Dr. Tarissa Spoonhunter was selected by the Diverse Issues in Higher Education as one of only 15 scholars as a 2018 Emerging Scholar.

The Ice Patch Exhibit Comes to CWC

In collaboration with Wyoming Indian High School and Lander Valley High School, Central Wyoming College has been given the opportunity to provide the community with the only public access to view “The Ice Patch Exhibit.” The exhibit will be displayed at CWC in the Intertribal Education Community Center atrium March 12-13 from 9am–6pm.

Student Support Services Celebrates 30 Years at CWC

Student Support Services celebrates 30 years at Central Wyoming College with an open house in conjunction with the Library on Wednesday, March 7 starting at 11:30am. Refreshments will be served and student success stories will be visible to appreciate until 1pm.

Tara Cottrill came to CWC because of the equine program. She had a dream to do equine therapy. Although Cottrill changed her major to secondary education and criminal justice, her dream of doing equine therapy is still a passion of hers and something she wants to do later in life.

Darrah Perez is a sophomore at CWC and is working towards a degree in psychology. Perez was awarded a scholarship for the Native American Entrepreneurs which opened a door for her to start her education at CWC. Perez was working at the casino when she decided to pursue her education full time.

CWC Women’s Basketball Coach to Retire

Ken Swartz, head women’s basketball coach at Central Wyoming College, announced February 16, he will retire at the end of the 2018 season, for good. The 74 year old coach came out of retirement a year and half ago to coach the lady Rustlers on an interim basis, and stayed for two seasons.
