Curtis Condie is new men's basketball coach

January 1, 2011

Curtis Condie has accepted the head men’s basketball coaching position at Central Wyoming College.

Condie, who was one of two finalists for the CWC job, was selected following on-campus interviews and presentations May 13. He begins his job, which includes sports information director duties, on June 1.

Condie comes to Central from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston where he was the assistant men’s basketball coach. Condie also served as the head coach at Texas A&M International University in Laredo for the 2006-2007season. Other coaching experience includes associate head men’s basketball coach at Utah Valley University (2002-2006) and assistant men’s basketball coach at Northern Arizona University (2001-2002) in Flagstaff. He earned an AA in Liberal Arts from East Los Angeles College and a BS in Physical Science from Utah State University.

Eric Glenn, the current assistant men’s basketball coach and head golf coach at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, was the other finalist for the job. The college received 76 applications for the coaching job.

One of Condie’s first role as the men’s basketball coach is to direct the annual Men’s Basketball Camp at CWC June 13-15. Condie replaces Jamie Stevens, who was recently hired as the head men’s basketball coach at the Montana State University at Billings, his alma mater.
