The Deputy Recruiters are a group of CWC students that have been selected by the Admissions Office to serve as official hosts and student representatives of the College.

The Deputy Recruiters are not a club, but rather an employment agreement between each member and the Admissions Office. All members are expected to fulfill all obligations and responsibilities, as with any other job.

Recruiters should have experiential information to share with prospective students. This may include everything from living in campus housing, eating at dining facilities, experiencing the campus life, to adjusting to new study habits.

They are also trained to share factual information about campus offerings and policies. They are aware of programs currently being offered at the College, including academic, athletic, student activities, as well as other Student Affairs programs.

Applications for Recruiters open in March, interviews are conducted in late April, and Recruiters are hired for the entire next academic year.

Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-initiated and student-run club where LGBTQ2 and other interested students can meet in a safe and supportive environment to share ideas, hang out with allies and educate the community on what it is like to be a non-traditional student.

The idea is to work for educational justice by creating a school environment free of discrimination, harassment, and intolerance. The club at CWC is regenerating and hopes to organize in coalition with other groups across identity lines to address broader issues of oppression and education. Meetings are Wednesdays from 10-11am in MH 200E. 

The club is open to all interested students. We are hoping to make connections statewide to develop community awareness, fun activities, and fundraising events full of leadership opportunities. Safe Zone Training for CWC Campus is on the list of possibilities!

GEAR UP Club works with any college student to support their transition to college life. Services help students adjust to their collegiate life by providing connections to campus resources, supporting academic success, and helping with financial aid and scholarships.

• Engage in team building activities with other GEAR UP & CWC students, staff, and Peer Mentors.

• Participate in GEAR UP Club events which provide information about opportunities for campus engagement. Events can include cultural, financial, and academic workshops.

• Learn about GEAR UP Club fundraising programs to cover costs associated with celebrating Club developed ideas/goals/activities.

Hey there, Ambassador! 

Social Media Ambassadors are connected, involved current students who are leaders in our community, spanning a wide variety of academic focuses and co-curricular interests, and are passionate about social media.

All Social Media Ambassadors must be active advocates for the institution through college-branded social media accounts. Ambassadors must act professionally, keeping in mind that they are representatives of the College (e.g. appropriate language, pictures, videos, etc.). Ambassadors are required to abide by Central Wyoming College policies as outlined in the CWC Social Media Policy Student Handbooks. We reserve the right to replace any students who are unable to comply.

This is a voluntary, resume-building position.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Ambassadors maintain a presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat and should be comfortable responding to inquiries, questions, and discussions as directed by the Digital Content Manager (i.e. hashtags, branded pages, incoming student groups).

Contribute to the CWC accounts on the following platforms:

1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. Instagram
4. Snapchat
5. Blogs
   
   Ambassadors will regularly create content as it pertains to campus events and student life. This can include class, studying, dorm life, attending events around campus, hanging out with friends, school trips (immersions, service trips, study abroad, etc.), adventures, milestones in your student career, and the list goes on!

Required to attend a one-on-one meeting with Digital Content Manager once a month and a group meeting once a month.

Expectations

As a social media ambassador, you agree to:

• Act as a responsible representative of CWC in your contributions to content.
• Post on a regular basis (3 times a week) in reference to the social media calendar.
• Post original content and never use images that you didn’t take yourself or by the marketing department.
• Regularly post to social media accounts about student life.
  This can include class, studying, dorm life, attending events around campus, hanging out with friends, school trips (immersions, service trips, study abroad, etc.), adventures, milestones in your student career, and the list goes on!
• Include #CWCLife or #RustlerPride in your posts
• Engage with other #CWCLife or #RustlerPride posts
• Attend a monthly one-on-one meeting and group meeting with the Digital Content Manager.
• Follow the official Central Wyoming College social media channels on your personal accounts.
• Stay up to date on information as you will get sneak peeks at upcoming announcements and campaigns
• Share great stories about the positive changes CWC has had on your life

Purpose: The purpose of the United Tribes Club is to create and enhance cultural awareness through events and other educational methods. The club focuses on American Indian historical and contemporary issues and is open to all students, regardless of race, who have the desire to contribute and participate in this multi-faceted approach to celebrate different cultures.

The CWC Climbing Club is a group of rock climbers interested in both indoor and outdoor climbing. The team trains together, holds fundraising events, and travels to compete in local and regional climbing competitions. All levels welcome.

Meeting Times: The team meets on Monday afternoons at Sinks Canyon Center in Lander.

The CWC Ranch Horse Team will compete against other collegiate teams in Stock Horse of Texas (SHTX), Slidin Daze Stock Horse Enterprises (SlidinDaze) and Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska Stock Horse Association (CoWN) sanctioned shows. We will also compete in non-sanctioned shows, such as those hosted by our local stock horse club Cowboy States Stock Horse Association (CSSHA).
