Two Rustlers are Academic All-Americans

Two Central Wyoming College athletes received academic achievement awards from the National Junior College Athletic Association.

 

Nicole Kallas of Evanston, a volleyball player for Coach Tiffany Stauffenberg was presented the Pinnacle Award for earning a 4.0 grade point average while playing for the Rustlers.

 

Jaci Egley, both a volleyball and basketball player for Central, won the Superior Academic Achievement award for maintaining a 3.92 GPA. Jaci hails from Fort Bridger, Wyo.

 

Coach Serol Stauffenberg's women's basketball team placed tenth in the nation for academic success, and the volleyball team placed third, missing the top spot by .06.

 

Over 1,470 NJCAA student-athletes met the requirements for individual academic honors while over 370 teams qualified for academic team accolades.

 

The 2010-2011 season marks the 28th year the NJCAA has recognized the success of its student-athletes in the classroom. With minimal changes, the NJCAA academic awards program has been in place since 1983.
