Work by wildlife artist Zach Even on display at CWC

January 1, 2011

Creations by Lander wildlife artist Zach Even go on display at Central Wyoming College’s Robert A. Peck Arts Center beginning Sept. 27.

A former graphic designer for the outdoor retailer Cabela’s, Even’s paintings and sketches of moose, elk and trout often adorned the covers of Cabela’s catalogs. His rendition of a pronghorn buck was selected by Nebraska’s Game and Fish Commission for use on a Nebraska habitat stamp.

Even’s passion for nature developed while growing up in Green River. He hiked, climbed, fished and hunted in Wyoming, and always tucked sketchpads in his pack to illustrate what he saw.

“Both my lifestyle and my artwork reflect my love for the outdoors,” he said. “This intimate interaction with my subject matter allows me to showcase the outdoor world in an authentic way using unique perspectives not ordinarily seen.”

Even, who with his wife, Anne and two children returned to Wyoming, is now doing his art full time.

The show is on display in the Arts Center Sept. 27 through Nov. 27. The gallery is open during regular college business hours.
