Dallas Brass presents Nov. 2 concert

January 1, 2012

The Dallas Brass, a brass ensemble that incorporates percussion, is in concert Friday, November 2 at Central Wyoming College.

The 7:30 p.m. performance, which will include guest artists from the Riverton Middle and High School bands, is in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre and is presented by Arts in Action and the CWC Music Department.

The Dallas Brass also has a strong mission to work with young musicians, said CWC vocal music professor Robert Hussa. The ensemble is presenting a 75-minute clinic to the band students, grades 6 through high school.

Dallas Brass has unique instrumentation, Hussa explained. Incorporating a brass quintet with a percussionist makes a completely different sound than other traditional brass ensembles.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students through high school. Tickets may be purchased at the CWC Box Office  open weekdays from 3-6 p.m. online, from RHS or RMS band students, or at Mammoth Music in downtown Riverton.
