New online climatology course this fall

January 1, 2012

Ever wonder why most of the U.S. had record-breaking heat this summer?

Find out by enrolling in Introduction to Climatology (ATSC 2110), a new four-credit online science course offered this fall at Central Wyoming College.

Instructed by Dr. Brett McDonald, who has a Ph.D. in meteorology, the course studies the Earth’s climate utilizing historic and current environmental data.

McDonald, who has been recognized as a “Master Distance Educator” by the Wyoming Distance Education Consortium, shares his technical expertise with a passion for student learning. A meteorologist with the National Weather Service, McDonald exposes students to the science of climate including the various processes responsible for defining climate on local, regional and national scales.

Fall classes begin at CWC Sept. 4 and students can register weekdays up until classes begin.
