Whitewater rafting course offered in June

Central Wyoming College’s Lander Center is hosting a Whitewater Rafting and Rescue Course June 25-29.

The course, geared toward the beginner and intermediate boater, provides four days of whitewater river rafting.

 
Taught by CWC Outdoor Education Professor Darran Wells, along with Tom and Cristin Zimmer, participants learn a variety of skills and techniques to safely navigate rivers, including risk management procedures, basic swift water rescue, river hydrology and hazards and route selection.
 
The course fee is $225 and includes camp and river gear, transportation to rivers near Thermopolis and Cody, and all meals. Participants provide sleeping bag, pad, clothing, and personnel effects.
