Central Wyoming College breaks ground on new Lander Center

January 1, 2014

Central Wyoming College broke ground on its new 8,000 square foot Lander Center in a ceremony on Wednesday.

The facility builds on the college's commitment to improve educational services in the Lander area. CWC today operates an outreach center in downtown Lander. The new building will provide more space and will include four classrooms, offices, a state of the art computer lab, plenty of parking and a stunning view of the Wind River Mountains in the distance.

"This is another huge day for Central Wyoming College" said Charlie Krebs, chairman of the CWC Board of Trustees.

The new outreach center will be constructed  on the corner of Highway 789 and Leedy Boulevard, just south past the Wyoming Life Resource Center on state land.

"This is about new beginnings" State Sen. Cale Case said during the ceremony. "We are going to plant seeds here."

The new Lander Center is scheduled to be completed next summer, and occupied by the fall of 2015.

"You have our commitment this will be the strongest facility it can be" CWC President Cris Valdez said.
