CWC gears up for New Student Orientation

August 21, 2015

New student orientation is set to begin Aug. 26-28. There are more than 200 students signed up for the event this year.

NSO will teach new students tools to be successful here at CWC and help them transition into high education, said Mandy Tate, NSO coordinator.

Activities will include a campus tour, meet with faculty advisors as well as movie nights, bonfires and a trip to Sinks Canyon.

Students should arrive Wednesday Aug. 26 at 8:30 am in the Robert A. Peck Art Center lobby.

Student will learn about campus log-ins, moodle, financial aid and will be able to get their student ID’s.

Students will have the chance to meet new friends and participate in CWC traditions to make their journey at CWC a memorable one.

“We are excited for our new students and want them to be excited to be a Rustler,” Tate said. “We want them to feel part of our community inside and outside of the classroom.”

Friday will wrap up the events with convocation in the morning inside the Robert A. Peck Center theatre and lunch will be provided on the CWC lawn.  There will also be a tailgate party at 5 pm outside of the gym which is open to students and the community and will kick off the girls’ volleyball team at 7 pm against Rocky Mountain College.
