The men’s and women’s golf team started off the season with some good shots with the men’s team finishing third. Although the women’s team had comparable scores they were unable to compete with only three members on the team.

Freshman, Braxton Schwartskoph had solid shooting with 77 on Thursday and 78 on Friday; placing him seventh with a total score of 155.

“Both days Braxton did well with some solid shots,” said Pat Rafferty, head coach. “Robbie had a good bounce back round on the second day with an even par.”

“I’m pleased with how well Sarah did; she did solid both days,” Rafferty said. “My freshman did well both days; we need some other players to step up to help us move up at the next tournament.”

“It’s good to have our teams in full swing,” said Steve Barlow, athletic director. “These first few tournaments are a learning experience as our teams are learning how to work together and adjust to the college atmosphere.”

The next golf tournament will be this Thursday and Friday, Sept. 3-4 in McCook, Neb.
