Duncan Makin is a freshman this year and is a graduate of Riverton High School. Makin is on the cross country and said he enjoys college athletics and is running more at the collegiate level.

He chose CWC to be close to home and because of the value of the college. He is studying pre-engineering and plans to transfer to the University of Wyoming after he graduates. His future plans include becoming a chemical engineer.

Makin was nominated by his cross country coach, Al Lara.

Duncan has a 4.0 and is a hard worker in cross country. He has improved in cross country since he joined our program and is so encouraging to his teammates both in practice and in school. Duncan is a very polite gentleman. We just lost Arnold Palmer a golf icon who was looked at as being respectful to others and giving time to care; that's what kind of person Duncan is. ”
