The Central Wyoming College men’s basketball took on the Casper College Thunderbirds on Nov. 29.

The Thunderbirds were ranked 20th in the nation but the Rustlers took the win, 68-59.

A trio of Rustlers finished the contest in double figures, Alihan Demir with 18, Devon Colley with 12 and Marcus Nolan with 10.  CWC shot well in the game finishing with a field goal percentage of 41 percent, while the Rustlers shot 31 percent from the 3-point line. Chris Quayle added 10 rebounds while Demir and Nick Brannon both had eight.

I could not be more proud of our guys. I've known that we had this type of performance in us, it was just a matter of finding a way to bring it out. After losing four in a row we were at a critical point in our season and we responded the best possible way. ”

Jack Nelson, head coach

"Before the game we talked about embracing the process of the season and not worrying about winning and losing but more worrying about doing the little things it takes to win games," Nelson said. "Now we have to learn from this weekend, not only this win but also the last two losses. We have to learn what type of energy, effort and focus it takes on a daily basis to reach our potential."

Next up for the Rustlers is Presentation College at Sheridan on Dec. 2 and Dawson Community College Dec. 3. The team will return to home court Jan. 4.
