Ally Mitchell moved to Riverton when she was in the sixth grade from California. After graduating high school she wanted to choose a college that was close to home and inexpensive. Mitchell didn’t have to look far, Central Wyoming College was in her home town and offered her degree program, criminal justice.

“I’m going into the military and would like to do intel or criminal justice investigation within the military,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell will be signing to join the military within the next few months. She said she isn’t sure which branch but she’s thinking about joining the Army National Guards or the Marine’s. Mitchell comes from a long line of family who has served in the military including her father who was in the Navy and an older brother that is in the guards.

This is something I want to do and pursue. I want to serve my country. ”

Although only in her freshman year, Mitchell will earn her associate’s degree this summer.

During her time at CWC, she has been part of the National Society of Leadership and Success, the criminal justice club and works as an intern for campus safety. She also is a janitor for her church.

Mitchell was nominated by Campus Safety Director, Chuck Carr.

“Ally is always on time, a self-starter and constantly asks for things to keep her busy,” Carr said. “Ally is friendly and professional. Ally is very good at her job.”

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, riding horses and spending time with her family.
