Peden is currently a substitute teacher and recently received a job offer at Aspen Early Learning Center as a para for kindergarten.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the lake, camping and just hanging out with people visiting.

Peden was nominated by her professor Colleen Bartlett, associate professor of education.

“Jess is graduating this spring with her degree in elementary education,” Bartlett said. “She already has experience working in the school district so she has been a really good resource for her peers about what that is like. She has been taking classes and working at the same time. She has been attending classes part time and has always remained positive and focused on her goal of graduating. I have enjoyed having Jess in my classes and I am really proud of her for completing her degree.”
