Ever since I was little I had a love for animals. I wanted to help them. ”

Growing up her mother always told her to choose a job that she would love and she would never have to work a day in her life.

“That’s why I want to be a vet,” Herbert said. Herbert said she enjoys her classes with equine instructor, Jennifer Cole.

“I’m actually learning to jump English style riding and I have never learned that before,” she said. Herbert is also a member of the Ranch Horse Team, is a deputy recruiter and works with the INBRE program.

Herbert plans to attend Colorado State University after she graduates from CWC. “I’m excited to surround myself with other majors in vet,” she said.

Herbert was nominated by Admissions Director, Patrick Edwards.

“She is a stellar student and worker and I am very lucky to get to work with her,” Edwards said. “She completed her first semester at CWC with a 4.0.”
