Now in her sophomore year at CWC and a soon to be graduate, Wehr plans to transfer to Black Hills State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Her interest in psychology happened after she took one class with psychology instructor Joseph Fountain. She liked the class so much she decided to double major.

Wehr said she would really like to teach third through fifth grade. During her time at CWC, she has been involved in many aspects of the college. She works in the food court and mailroom. She is a resident advisor and is the campus activities board representative for the Entrada club. Wehr is also a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

She was nominated by campus security officer, Gene Galitz. Galitz nominated her after she helped a person during a difficult time. Galitz said that Wehr was an encouragement to the person and continued to support the person positively to help them through their situation.

“The compassion she showed for a total stranger was very impressive,” Galitz said. “We are fortunate to have her with us here at CWC.”
