Valerie Hinkle is in the medical assistant program at CWC. With a two-year-old son, Hinkle chose a program that would be quick to allow her the freedom of being a mom while pursuing a career.

Hinkle said maybe in the distant future she will pursue a degree in nursing. Growing up in Lander, Hinkle said that CWC was the easy choice for a college.

I knew it was a good campus. I love the instructors. They are all kind and caring. They really get to know you personally. ”

Valerie Hinkle

Hinkle is a tutor for TRIO and is an anatomy lab assistant at CWC. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her son, walks and spending time with family and friends.

Hinkle was nominated by her instructor, Kristy Jones.

“Valerie finished her phlebotomy course last fall and holds the record for most venipunctures in a semester...103,” Jones said. “She volunteered in several health fairs and once the staff saw her talent, she was put to work immediately drawing patients and held her very successful record of rare misses.  Valerie is back taking classes this semester working towards her Medical Assistant certificate. With her previous phlebotomy experience, she is extremely helpful and encouraging to other students and a positive influence on everyone. She comes to class on time, ready to work and a smile on her face. She balances holding a job, wife, mother to a toddler and classes with great determination and pride. She will be an awesome MA and I know that whatever path she may take in her future she will be an asset to our community and make CWC proud.”
