Lady Ruslters fall to Casper

January 24, 2017 by Laura Phagan

The Casper College women’s basketball team outrebounded Central Wyoming College by a 50-35 margin on Saturday’s game in Riverton, resulting in an 85-61 win.

Olivia Thompson led the way for the Rustlers with 25 points, the only other player to contribute double digits was Atajma Criss-Felton with 12.

“Olivia Thompson is turning into a really great player for us with 25 points and 11 rebounds,” said Ken Swartz, head coach.

The lady Rustlers played 70.6 percent in free throws to Casper’s 44.4 percent but were unmatched in three-pointers as Casper made 7-23 and the Rustlers only brought in one three-pointer by Kyla Paulus.

I thought we actually played a really good basketball game. We had a time where we turned the ball over six times in a row and they scored on three of those. We just have to come back on Monday and regroup. ”

The team will travel to Sheridan tomorrow, Jan. 25 and will return to their home court Friday, Jan. 27 to take on Northwest College at 5:30pm.
