On Friday, March 17, the Central Wyoming College Foundation had the Rustler 400; an annual event that includes buffet,  silent auction and a drawing for a multitude of prizes.

Becky Ruthenbeck, Executive Director of the CWC Foundation said the evening was a success.

“Two-hundred-and-fifty people came to the event itself. We sold 329 tickets, and 18 people left with cash prizes.”

In total, $40,422 was raised to benefit athletic scholarships at CWC.

This is about a $4,000 increase from last year, so the event is progressively getting bigger and raising more money. ”

With all of the proceeds from the event going to fund athletic scholarships, she added, “This is going to help bring some great athletes to our community.” Taking home the grand prize of $10,000 was Kathleen Newman.
