CWC Announces Arrival of Executive Director

The Central Wyoming College Foundation and CWC announced the arrival of Executive Director Beth Monteiro to her position today.

“We are excited to have Beth on board,” President Brad Tyndall said. “She is a rock star.  She brings many years of development experience to this position as well as energy and excitement about the community college system and future opportunities for the foundation and the college.”

Monteiro has rural roots, raised in southeast Idaho, and still has a family ranch outside of Leadore, Idaho. She comes to CWC from Beloit College, where she was most recently the vice president of development and alumni relations. She worked there for seven and a half years. Prior to that position, she served in many development roles, including as in-house counsel, for the Washington State University Foundation. Monteiro graduated with her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho. She has also served in the United States Air Force for eleven years.

Monteiro said she is looking forward to the opportunity to explore another side of higher education.

It is an exciting time in the community college world. With the changing demographics of student populations, the way the community college can serve communities and students in an entrepreneurial way is very exciting. With changing funding models, especially for community colleges, I am looking forward to bringing my experience in fundraising to CWC. ”

Monteiro said she is looking forward  to learning about CWC and the communities it serves and getting involved with them.

She enjoys camping and hiking, traveling and exploring with family. She and her husband have two sons. She also is especially fond of gardening in her free time.

Monteiro moved to Fremont County with her husband, Abilio, a secondary education history and French teacher who is an avid trail runner and outdoor enthusiast.

“He is really excited about the opportunity to tackle the Wind River Range and about living in the area,” Monteiro said.
