The Rustler 400 hit another success in its third year as a fundraiser for the Central Wyoming College athletic program. More than $40,000 was raised at the event on Friday, March 23. The proceeds from the event resulted in $27,000 for athletic scholarships and about $15,000 went back into the community through CWC purchasing prizes for the event.

I cannot say enough how much the CWC and Fremont County communities support for our students is appreciated. ”

The Rustler 400 is a reverse raffle with multiple chances of winning but the grand prize is $10,000 which went to Dar and Bob Vogel, who are parents of rodeo athlete Josee Vogel. More than 15 people walked away with cash prizes from raffle. The event also included a live and silent auction.

“This year was outstanding,” Barlow said. “This year was the first year we sold all 400 tickets and that shows the support of our community and the hard work that our coaches and athletes did to connect with the community. We are looking forward to next year.”
