Environment Health & Safety - Environmental Technician
Associate of Applied Science Degree
The environmental technician program at CWC provides students with the skills required to safeguard our environment. Students will learn how to take field samples, monitor operations and compliance, and mitigate sources of environmental pollution. This program is a foundation by which students can work to solve complex environmental problems, and take part in work that makes an impact. A general understanding of biology, chemistry, geology and ecology related to the environment and energy industries will be developed as well as skills in mapping, testing, safety and compliance. In addition students will learn state and federal environmental laws and regulations. Careers in this field are increasing, due to high demands in the energy sector.
Virtually all of the courses in this program transfer well to either the Environment and Natural Resources program at the University of Wyoming, or (in the case of Geospatial Information courses) to the Geography Department. Specific course transfer depends upon the department students wish to enter at UW.
