Welding
Associate of Applied Science Degree
This program not only provides skills and knowledge needed in today's welding industry but combines hands-on welding with classroom instruction in the five commonly used welding processes; OAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW. CWC is an accredited education and test facility with American Welding Societies with up-to-date welding equipment. Be trained according to the AWS D1.1 structure welding code book, as well as the American Petroleum Institutes' 1104 pipe code book.
Additionally, the degree offers courses in metallurgy, blueprint reading and weld inspection to build depth of understanding in the welding field.

Certificates
The welding program is designed to provide students with entry-level skills and knowledge needed in today’s welding industry. To be successful in the welding industry, a person must be able to adapt to work styles that require dependability, attention to detail, safety-consciousness, self-control, adaptability/flexibility, initiative, and cooperation.
The program combines hands-on welding experiences with classroom instruction in commonly used welding processes. Safety is emphasized in all areas of the welding program.
The certificate program requires students to complete 31 credits of coursework and features a concentrated welding curriculum with emphasis on Oxy-Fuel, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and basic pipe welding. Math and English are also included in this program of study.

Welding certificate II combines hands-on welding experiences with classroom instruction in commonly used welding processes. Designed for students who have prior welding experience and desire to update their skills.
14 credits of welding courses.
Welder Qualification Test Training
Welder Qualification Test Training is available for welders wanting to qualify under specific welding codes and specification. This training consists of supervised practice to ensure the welding students are using the right techniques to overcome bad welding habits. Practice coupons are inspected and tested by our staff certified welding inspector. Any test failure will be discussed between the welding student and the CWI.
Welding students will follow all industry standard safety rules and regulations as set by the Central Wyoming College Welding department.
Central Wyoming College can certify welders to structure and pipe codes. The CWC welding department is staffed with two AWS Certified Welding Inspectors and a shop supervisor to help meet your goals.
The training schedule will be 4 weeks long at 14 hours a week if needed. The weld test to follow.
Welding students will supply their own protective equipment and tools:

Welder Qualification Testing
Welder Certification and Qualification
Central Wyoming College can certify and qualify welders to structure and pope welding codes and specifications. The college is staffed with two American Welding Society’s certified welding inspectors and shop supervisors to help you with your testing needs.
One hour practice time will be allowed to dial in the welding machine. The test supervisor will go over the welding procedure with the welder giving clear instructions. All test coupons will be tested in strict accordance with the applicable welding code and recorded on the appropriate qualification test record. Any deviation from the welding supervisors direction will constitute a failed test.
